Community Involvement
The company that
Arthur Kaplow founded in 1955 was put in the skilled hands of Stuart Applebaum
in 1978.
Applebaum belongs
to the National Association of Life Underwriters,
and is a Registered Representative of PAS, a registered broker/dealer. He is a past board member
of the Essex County Association of Independent Insurance Agents.
The strong commitment
to service that defines Kaplow & Co.'s approach to business is also
reflected in its president's deep involvement in community activities.
This personal dedication has earned Applebaum honors
from The Star-Ledger as the newspaper's "Jerseyan of the
Week".
Applebaum has devoted
considerable energy to the Association fro Retarded
Citizens of Essex County. He has served in several capacities
with ARC/Essex, and was the organization's first two-term president.
In recognition of his efforts on behalf of persons with mental retardation,
Applebaum was named the association "Volunteer
of the Year" in 1990.
A leader in civic
and religious affairs as well, Applebaum is a former president of the
Springfield (NJ) Board of Education, a past
